SPECIFIC FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY:
Ensures patient information including insurance is accurate and complete
Prepares, reviews, and transmits claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing
Develops and monitors internal communication reports ? Obtains Authorizations (TARs, SARS or insurance authorizations)
Obtains information for billing from Subacute (daily status change record), Acute (admission and discharges), and Circlebrook
Obtains supplemental therapy information from invoice by patient
Obtains supplemental vent weaning paperwork from Director of Respiratory
Ensures efficient billing and tracking of billing information
Files and maintains organized documentation of all billing and records
Requirements: Minimum of two (2) years working in a skilled nursing facility, health plan, medical specialty group, hospital, other related healthcare setting. Combination of relevant education and work experience may be considered in meeting these requirements.
Must possess good work ethics and a professional image at all times. Knowledge of CMS conditions of participation, CDPH state regulations, CCS, and TJC (hospital, nursing care center, and laboratory) accreditation requirements as applicable to job.
Working knowledge of computer and software applications as applicable to job. Possess strong communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills. Works responsibly in a team environment as well as independently. Manages confidential information effectively and appropriately
