Job Description

Job Summary:

The cook prepares, plates, and serves meals for patients, clients, students (KidShip) employees, and guests as determined by the menu, standardized recipes, tally sheets, and special event schedule.

Maintains a clean and safe environment in the kitchen


Current County of San Bernardino DPH Certified Food Worker card

Current Serve Safe Certification preferred:  Minimum of one (1) year of food preparation experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.

Knowledge of basic principles of quantity food production, service and sanitation preferred

Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing

Must possess good work ethics and a professional image at all times

Knowledge of CMS conditions of participation, CDPH state regulations, CCS, and TJC (hospital, nursing care center, and laboratory) accreditation requirements as applicable to job

Working knowledge of computer and software applications as applicable to job

Possess strong communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills

Works responsibly in a team environment as well as independently,  Manages confidential information effectively and appropriately
